Layers you can remove
A light jacket or fleece over a t-shirt works well for most of the year; you'll likely take it off within 30–40 minutes of takeoff as the sun climbs. In winter (December–February), add a warmer layer for the pre-dawn wait during briefing and inflation.
Footwear
The launch field and landing site are uneven, sometimes dusty or damp ground — flat, closed shoes (trainers or light hiking shoes) are far more practical than sandals or heels.
What to avoid
Loose scarves or long, flowing garments are best avoided near the burner during inflation and takeoff. Sunglasses help for the descent, when you're often facing toward the rising sun.
